The Appliance Wattage Calculator works out how much energy an appliance uses and what it costs to run. Enter the appliance's power rating in watts, how many hours you use it per day, and your electricity price. The formula used is: daily energy (kWh) = watts × hours ÷ 1000, and cost = energy × price per unit.

A 1000 W appliance used 4 hours a day uses 1000 × 4 ÷ 1000 = 4 kWh per day. At PKR 50 per unit that is PKR 200 a day, or about PKR 6,000 a month.

Frequently asked questions

How do I calculate an appliance's energy use?

Where do I find an appliance's wattage?
