Formula
ALC = WBC × Lymphocyte% ÷ 100
- The ALC is the total white-cell count multiplied by the lymphocyte fraction: ALC = WBC × lymphocyte% / 100.
- With WBC entered in ×10⁹/L, multiply the result by 1000 to express the ALC in cells/µL.
- A normal ALC is roughly 1000 to 4000 cells/µL.
- Below 1000 cells/µL is lymphopenia; above 4000 cells/µL is lymphocytosis.
- Lymphocyte counts shift with infections, stress, and immune conditions, so interpret alongside the clinical picture.
