Formula
Dose (mg) = weight (kg) × rate (mg/kg); Volume (mL) = dose ÷ concentration
- Initial (loading) dose: 0.2 mg/kg on first day.
- Maintenance dose: 0.1 mg/kg once daily.
- Standard oral suspension: 1.5 mg/mL. Injectable: 5 mg/mL.
- Metacam is NOT safe for cats without explicit veterinary guidance.
